Hello! I am John Hartmann. I am the current review columnist for Chess Life Magazine, a US Chess tournament director, and an active tournament player. Here is my current USCF data and rating. When I am not reviewing chess books, you can probably find me coloring with my daughter, drinking coffee, or entertaining my wife and cats. For more on this blog, view my initial post.
Those with about 75 minutes of free time on their hands can check out my appearance on the Perpetual Chess Podcast.
I welcome review copies of books from chess publishers. Please visit my contact page to get in touch with me.
You have less than 1800 elo and say that some of the books you are reviewing are excelent, for players over 1800? Curious….
Yes. I see no contradiction there. My elo as a reviewer is much higher than my OTB elo. 🙂
Just curious; no review for May? (on vacation perhaps?)
Just busy. Up soon!
